What is the What's New Block?
The What's New block is created by a built-in Geeklog function that displays the latest stories and comments added to the site. Plugins may add sections to the 'What's New' block in order to provide the latest additions to those custom sections of the site as well. For example, in GL1.4, the Links page is built as a 'plugin', and as default, provides a new section in the What's New block for any new links added to the Links database. Each section of the What's New block will display the latest additions for a length of time as determined by the setting in either the master config.php file, or the plugin's associated config.php.
