To make Geeklog a more robust system, it must allow us to easily install plugins to extend the core functionality. After pondering how to do this, I was reminded by the original Geeklog author, Jason Whittenberg, that PEAR has a decent system for doing this. Indeed it does. The PEAR package manager has been recently modified to support the notions of channels. As such, we should be able to leverage the concepts for package management from their system by creating a Geeklog Channel. Doing so will provide a slick, pre-existing method for browsing, installing and removing Geeklog plugins.

This page must be updated to include the actual end-user centric documentation but, until we get the system built I offer up a link to help get us started:
